Lady Jane Grey

This is my Interpretation of the Tudor costume of Lady Jane Grey. It was based on a portrait by an unknown Artist. I made a Bum pad, Corset, Spanish Farthingale, Petticoat, an Overdress with cartridge pleated train, Bell Sleeves and a hardened Stomacher and a Partlet. The edges are piped in antique gold bias binding and the overdress and partlet are lined with bronze/gold lining fabric. I also made a replica of the hat, with a crocheted and beaded hair net and it is edged with gold ribbon.

18th Century Decorated Bodice

This was the first costume i made at University. It is based on this portrait of a young Marie-Antoinette by Martin Van Meytens. The decoration on the stomacher took 4 days to complete, and the whole bodice was completed within 4 - 5 weeks.

Hello!!!!

 Let me tell you a little about myself. At the moment I am studying BA (Hons) in Costume Construction for Stage and Screen. I am currently in my 2nd year of my foundation degree in Cardiff and I am hoping to go on to complete the BA (Hons) next year. I have worked on a range of costumes so far, from stomachers for a stage production of 'Dangerous Liasons', to currently working on a film which is under production at the moment, by Luke Andrews who has worked on BBC short films for 'It's My Shout'.

I will try to blog as much as possible and let whoever is reading know how things are going. I will basically use this as a diary and try and keep it up-to-date as much as possible. Thanks for reading!
